10 lessons on waiting on God

Happy new month of July, 2020, how great it is to have this privilege to share with us a Word for this month. I don’t know how you have been since the beginning of this year, but as for me, I have been waiting! Waiting to experience the goodness of the Lord, waiting to see my goals coming to pass. Here are some lessons that we could learn while waiting on God:

Here are some lessons we can learn while waiting on God

1.Waiting is not easy. It requires patience, a lot of Grace and most importantly, faith. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6 (ESV)

2. God rewards those who draw near, who seek Him. You don’t need to find and understand everything. But in this month of July if you continue to honestly seek the Lord, there is a reward for you, no matter what your feelings or thoughts are informing you, seek the lord.  But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33 (ESV)

3.The more aware you are of the righteousness of Jesus in your life, the more ready and close to the blessings and answers for your prayer you will be.

4. God’s ways are not our ways. Sometimes, we can be so focused on our personal goals and desires that we feel that there is no way to be happy until we can achieve those goals. When we do this, we are placing God in a box where we tell him how and when we want our dreams to come true. God’s ways are not our ways. If you are only able to be happy when things go your way, then you are about to suffer a lot of frustration. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9 (ESV)

5.   When you give up control, the pressure goes away, and the blessings come. Much of our frustration in life is because we are trying to control things we should never control. We have to accept the fact that we cannot control everything around us. Surrender to God. When we pray for God’s will to be done and rest on it, we are telling the Lord that we trust his plans for us.

6.   There will be times in our lives when God will ask us to give him what we desire the most. This is a test. If we’re approved, He’ll give us back what he asked or give us something even better than we thought.

7. Your attitude as you wait makes a big difference. Can you be happy even when things are not the way you thought? Are you able to maintain an attitude of faith even when things don’t seem to go well? Today being the second day of this month you decide to honor the lord by believing, resting, giving and also being happy while you wait. If we keep the right attitude, in the end, it will develop our character and make us grow. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Romans 5:3-5 (ESV)

8.   We cannot control what happens to us, but we can control the how we respond to what happens to us. When we remain so glad while waiting, we are declaring that we trust that the lord will do his will in our lives. Don’t let the enemy steal your joy. God’s will for us is “enjoy each day of your life.” The lord never intended us to go through life depressed, dragging ourselves into sadness and discouragement. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Psalm 139:17 (ESV)

 9.   Understand that in the midst of every circumstance of your life, God is in control. Even if you do not understand today and circumstances seem difficult, keep your head up and a smile on your lips, for the Lord is directing your steps. The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; Psalms 37:23 (ESV)

10. God knows what lies in our future and knows the preparation time needed to get there. We do not know, but our future may be linked to the small actions and small seed we are sowing in our daily lives. What kind of seed are you planting?

In this new month of July, I want to challenge us to PRAY, ASK, THEN REST. God bless us all and I wish you all be best in this month of July, 2020
