Are you using your gift?

From the beginning, when God created human beings, He wanted them to be co-workers with him in the kingdom. God is relational. He values fellowship in all his dealings. If you are observant enough, you will realize that God gave all the people He used gifts that served many people. A good example is Abraham. To date, through faith, we are enjoying the promises that God gave him.

The oxford dictionary describes a gift as a thing given willingly to someone without payment; a present. Another definition of a gift is a natural ability or talent. 1 Peter 4:10 tells us that ‘’As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God’’. Every person on this earth has a gift. Also, God’s gifts are irrevocable.

You might wonder why many people might have the same gift but have different levels and channels of delivery. The difference is clearly shown in Romans 12:6 ‘’Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly’’. Since we make the body of Christ, our gifts bear the same spirit of God, with the same mission of glorifying God.

Like the three men given talents, measure yourself which servant you are right now and choose to use your gift better, to serve others, for the glory of God.

Prayer

Heavenly Father we thank you for giving us unique gifts. Help us to utilize them in service to you and humanity. Thank you for choosing to use us in different ways to advance your kingdom. Amen
