Celebrating God our Creator

Have you taken time to thank God for His awesome work of creating the universe? In His sovereignty, He created the Heavens and Earth when it was without form. The Bible records in Genesis 1:2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

God then gave man dominion over everything He had created. Genesis 1:26b, And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

We have a grand responsibility to take care of the earth we live in. We can do this by keeping the environment clean, avoid pollution, saving electricity and water, planting trees, recycling just to mention a few. 

Above all let us celebrate God for creating us and the earth and be thankful for His marvelous work. Here are some verses that will help us ponder on God as the creator.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1(ESV)

Through him God made all things; not one thing in all creation was made without him. John 1:3 (GNT)

You are the Lord, you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and you preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships you. Nehemiah 9:6(ESV)

All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word. Isaiah 66:2(ESV)

Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” Revelation 4:11(ESV)

For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens. Psalm 96:5(ESV)

O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, enthroned above the cherubim, you are the God, you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth. Isaiah 37:16(ESV)

For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (he is God!), who formed the earth and made it (he established it; he did not create it empty, he formed it to be inhabited!): “I am the Lord, and there is no other. Isaiah 45:18(ESV)

For through him God created everything in heaven and on earth, the seen and the unseen things, including spiritual powers, lords, rulers, and authorities. God created the whole universe through him and for him. Colossians 1:16(GNT)

Acknowledge that the Lord is God. He made us, and we belong to him; we are his people, we are his flock. Psalm 100:3(GNT)
