God’s Assignment- A reason to be Inspired

Have you ever had an assignment given to you? Assignments are part of life. Just as we get assignments from different people or establishments, each believer has been given an assignment by God. You have a special assignment that God has prepared for you. Regardless of what people think about your God-given assignment, just know that to God it is of great value to His Kingdom and it brings Him glory and Honor. This is a good reason to smile every time you are working with Him. When Challenges face us, sometimes we tend to feel stuck, confused and wonder what to do especially in this season of Covid-19. The good news is that God is never stuck nor is He restrained by the challenges that we go through. God is still at work and He calls us to continue working with Him.

Colossians 1:1-2 (ESV) Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, (2) To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father.

In Colossians chapter one verse one, Paul said that he was an Apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God. This shows that Paul Understood God’s Call upon his life. From this verse, it is important to understand that we are ministers of Christ Jesus by the will of God. Ministers here does not only centre on the five-fold ministry (pastors, prophets, Apostles, Evangelists and Teachers) but to everyone that belongs to the Body of Christ. The big question here is where does God want you now (a matter of place)? What does He want you to do (work)? How does He want you to do it (plan)? With whom does He want you to do it with (If it will need someone else)? Why does He want you to do it (The result)? – The results have to always point to Jesus. He is the reason for the task you have been given. Get the answers to these questions and you will always have a good start as God’s minister.

2Corinthians 5:20 (ESV) Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Always remember that you are a gift to the body of Christ and the world. Take this opportunity and serve God with all of your heart where He has placed you.

Colossians chapter one verse two makes an introduction of saints and faithful brethren in Christ. It’s important to know that you are a saint in Christ Jesus once you are saved. The words used here– faithful brethren in Christ calls us to reflect on our commitment to Christ. We should be faithful in all that Christ has called us to. Again remember, the focus is on Jesus Christ and not to ourselves. Paul again says in the same verse, grace to you and peace from God our Father. Realize that God has given you His grace (His ability and favour) and peace even as you fulfil His call on your life. The calling may have challenges, but remember the peace to carry on does not come from what you are doing but from God. This will enable you to prevail in tough times.

So step out into God’s calling faithfully as a saint in Christ because He has given you His grace and peace.

BE INSPIRED!
