Prayer: Confidence in God’s nature: He is All-Powerful (Omni- Potent)
I believe that there many of us; who have come to the place; where they have genuinely admitted that they could not do something that seemed hard to them. It is true to say that there is an extent man cannot go without God. There is a place where man cannot but God can! The truth is; man without God; would never have achieved or done anything. Man’s wisdom and ability came from God after creation. Still; it is worth to say that man is still limited without God. This then brings our attention to God’s sovereignty in regards to His might. God can do all things because He possesses all possible power.
Genesis 1:1 ESV In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
The word ‘created’ in this verse; shows God’s power in bringing forth the entire universe that is inclusive; of the spiritual world.
Colossians 1:16-17 ESV For by Him (CHRIST) all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities–all things were created through him and for him. (17) And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Looking at all that has ever existed and exists since creation; means that God has the freedom to do all that He wills to do. God’s acts are neither determined by, nor a reaction to circumstances; or the acts of any of His creatures be it physical or spiritual. His ability or might is informed by His good and pleasing pleasure.
Psalm 115:3 ESV Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.
The omnipotent power of God is part of who He is!
Kindly note that God is Holy. This means that everything that He does is pure and right. For example, God will always use His power to bring about and establish His righteousness, holiness, justice, and love.
God’s power gives great confidence to the praying believer since he knows that God is fully able to intervene on his behalf. Because God is all-powerful, the believer can rely on the fulfilment of every promise, the consistent ministry of God, and every good blessing and joy not only in this life but also in the life to come. The believer experiences “the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe”
Jeremiah 32:17 ESV Ah, Lord GOD! It is you who has made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you
If you are seeking God’s intervention in any area that you are stuck; get to know His will; this can be achieved through His Word and prayer. When you know His will; rest assured that nothing will be impossible in His purpose.
Heavenly Father; thank you for reminding us of your sovereignty and power. Nothing can ever be hard for you. You are our strength and might in the face of difficulties. You are our banner, victory and triumph. In Jesus name; Amen!
