The power of God’s grace

What is God’s grace? It is the daily sustaining power that God imparts to every believer. It is also defined as God’s unmerited favor.

We often question our abilities on new challenges e.g., a new career, being a parent for the first time, dealing with sickness, a pandemic, loss of property and such other difficult issues. Through it all, we realize that God’s grace enables us to navigate through these and other uncertainties in this broken and imperfect world we live in.

How do I experience Grace?

To experience God’s grace, we have to trust in God’s word, totally put our reliance on God, and challenge ourselves against doubting God’s faithfulness in helping us through difficult seasons of life.

Scriptural Encouragement

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16(RSV)

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26(ESV)

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. Psalm 103:8(ESV)

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.1 Peter 5:10(ESV)

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people. Titus 2:11(ESV)

Therefore, the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. Isaiah 30:18(ESV)

Father thank you because your grace is sufficient always. Thank you for being a present help to us in our time of need and for being faithful to us. Help us to rely on you fully and not to trust in our own knowledge. We are confident that you will carry us through all seasons of life because you are all powerful. Amen
