Finding God’s Will for Life

Does He Still Talk?

Does God still care? Was this God’s will? If He loves me why the pain? How do I know His will for my life? These are the questions that linger in most people today.

Unfortunately, we sometimes get ourselves into things that affect our lives directly and claim that it was God’s will.

David would say in Psalms 119:23. I have laid upon thy word in my heart that I might not sin against thee. David knew in his heart that failing to do the will of God meant failing in his mandate. He lived his life to the fullest. The Bible records that when he had fulfilled his purpose and served his generation he slept. It is so fulfilling when we find God’s will for our lives. We will always live our lives to the fullest.

How do we know the will of God?

We get to know the will of God in many ways, among which are: –

Reading the word of God

Reading God’s words equips us with all knowledge. In Hosea 4:6; the bible records that people get lost for lack of knowledge, and in this case, people miss to find the will of God for lack of knowledge. If you want to find God’s will for your life, seek to know His will in His word.

Prayer

In many instances in the Bible the Israelites before going to war, would always seek to know God’s will in prayer among other ways. We must learn to find God’s will for our lives in prayer.

Seek Godly counsel

Seeking counsel from elderly people, people with authority, mentors among other people that you find relevant can always help you know and understand what His will is for you.

Reading books and articles

A lot of knowledge is hidden in writing. God has revealed resourceful information and knowledge to different people. We may not be able to access some of this information on a one-on-one basis. So, some knowledge is hidden in books and only those so go the extra mile of reading will find the truth and knows to be able to align themselves in God’s will.

How Do you know you are walking in the will of God?

When I finished campus in 2019, I had a very difficult time finding what the will of God was for me at that point. Indeed, I was looking for a job and I thought having served God and staying faithful to God on campus, there is no way I would have missed a job. But to my surprise getting a job has not been a walk in the park. As I write I haven’t secured a job yet, but yes, I am still in God’s will. Failing to get a job, the Lord led me into business.

It was not easy for me to accept that I would fail to secure a job especially having done Engineering as a lady. It came to point of really surrendering and swallowing my pride to let God. I have found a lot of peace and self-realization in business, something I would not have imagined before. Today I thank God that He took me through the path He has taken me through. In God’s will, there is peace and satisfaction. I still seek His will in my decisions.

To many others that are at their crossroads, wondering what the will of God is, invest time in seeking His will to know His mind. He got the best for you. You cannot settle for anything less the will of God, it might not be interesting to you, but trust me, it is the best.

In need of PEACE AND CONTENTMENT? Seek to know the will of God.

Conclusion

Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is the WILL of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

God had a perfect will for everyone when He created us. But it is in our ability to search and find His will for our lives. When we find His will for us and live in it we live life at its best.
