Seven verses to give you strength

The Bible offers many verses on finding strength when you feel tired and overwhelmed. God wants his word to comfort us in hard times and encourage our faith when we feel desperate. Despite the challenges we face, may we always remember that our hope and strength is in the Lord.

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.  I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. Psalm 18:2-3(ESV)

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; yea, wait for the Lord! Psalm 27:14(ESV)

But thou, O Lord, art a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. I cry aloud to the Lord,

and he answers me from his holy hill.  I lie down and sleep; I wake again, for the Lord sustains me. Psalm 33-5 (RSV)

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1(RSV)

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved, he who keeps you will not slumber. Psalm 121:1-3 (RSV)

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; he bestows favor and honor. No good thing does the Lord withhold from those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts blessed is the man who trusts in thee! Psalm 84:11-12 (RSV)

The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. Exodus 15:2 (RSV)
